Evesham
Evesham is a market town on the River Avon and a centre for the fruit-growing industry. Despite much expansion, the town has managed to maintain much of its elegance.

There are a number of Georgian houses and
half-timbered buildings found in Evesham. Some of the finest include the 15th century Round House building and 17th century Dresden House, which is located on the High street. The remains of Evesham's Abbey Church are also evident in the form of a Norman stone gateway and bell tower.
The town has two fine churches: All Saints, sections of which are over 800 years old and St Lawrence's, which was rebuilt in the 16th century. The
Almonry Museum on Vine street is also worth visiting and exhibits medieval remains and agricultural implements.

Rowing boats are available for hire in the town, enabling visitors to navigate the
River Avon as well as explore the collection of picturesque gardens and parks found on its banks. Watersports, especially fishing, are also popular on the river - licenses and permits can be purchased from the local post-offices. See below for more information about Evesham visitor attractions.

History and Culture
The Neolithic Remains found on the banks of the River Avon are worth seeing and there are also several interesting historical buildings close to the town such as the 7th century Benedictine monastery at Malmesbury, which is said to be the burial site of King Athelstan. At nearby
Hidcote Manor, visitors can enjoy a game of croquet on the Theatre lawn at one of England’s most beautiful gardens.

The Riverside Shopping centre has a multi-storey car park leading to a traffic-free shopping precinct where you will find a variety of shops from small independents to chain stores. There are also two large supermarkets in the centre of the town.
