Torquay, also known as the English Riviera is a popular seaside resort in Devon. It's a lively town with an impressive marina and harbour area (pictured above) - the surrounding, Blue-flag beaches are among the best in the UK. Torquay is also a popular destination for hen and stag weekends and has a good number of pubs, clubs and restaurants. The town began to develop as a resort with the introduction of the railways, during the Victorian Times.

Reminders of this heritage can be seen through the architecture - its pavilion is one of the most notable examples. Other attractions include the Torquay Museum and the Stone Age Kents Cavern cave system, which is one of Britain's most important archaeological sites.
