Ullapool
Ullapool is located on the West Coast of Scotland and sits on the shores of the beautiful Loch Broom. It is a picturesque fishing village set amidst a magnificent Scottish landscape of mountains, Lochs and rugged cliffs.

Founded in the 18th Century the town offers countless reminders of its rich Gaelic past that include an impressive museum housed in one of Ullapool's original buildings. A ferry runs from the town to the neighbouring
Allt na h'Airbhe, found on the other side of Loch Broom.
12 miles north-west of Ullapool are the picturesque
Summer Isles, an attractive collection of islands that were once home to a community of fishermen but now lie deserted. The town of Ullapool is surrounded by mountains that include the strangely shaped Stac Pollaidh whose summit rocks represent the outline of a fairy tale castle.

Ullapool and the surrounding area offers an unspoilt splendour to rival anything in Scotland. The famous
Loch Ness is but an hours drive away making Ullapool a great base for exploring the best the country has to offer. For more details of Ullapool visitor attractions and outdoor activities, see the guide that follows.
