What the Owners Say
Spread over three floors, Mill Cottage is a cosy 2 bedroom stone cottage dating back to around 1800. We think it was originally built to serve Gayle Mill in some form. Anecdotal evidence tells us it has been a storeroom and part of the village shop at one time. It has recently been the subject of a complete renovation programme to bring it up to today’s standards.
It now provides all of today’s comforts but still retains much of the charm and character of a cottage of it’s age. It retains flagstone floors, exposed beams, stonework and stripped floors where possible but in addition has a modern kitchen and bathroom with mains pressure hot water and new fully controllable electric heating system along with WiFi.
It is situated in Gayle, just half a mile from the lively market town of Hawes in Wensleydale and is right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
